our telco reconfigured our local dial in number in Dublin and it was off line for about 2 weeks. Fixed it eventually. 01 4433161 is working again. Thanks to an eagle eyed customer who spotted it and called me on the mobile. I have added a facebook & twitter button so you can share the love in social media. A face book fan page for DJ hire Dublin has also been added. While on tech issues, spam filters are getting tighter and tighter and some recent mails were trapped. Additional measures have been installed to help prevent this repeating. Blog software upgraded to 3.01. Now what else can go wrong?
We have been asked supply music for the Irish Blog Awards at the end of March in Galway. This will be the 4th blog awards we have played music at, the first two were in Dublin and Cork last year. Looking forward to it. requests via blip.fm or twitter with tag #IBA10

I have been joined by two other DJs to help spread the work load.
DJ Dave has been on the mobile seen for decades and working all the gigs that were good to do in the North East (that’s why I got none of them) so if you can’t beat them join them! so they say.
Also joining us is Derek Jones who first graced the airwaves of Dublin in 1972 with the early Radio Dublin then moving to his own shortwave station Radio Valleri International where I met him in 1985. Derek worked with me on Big Beat Radio, Centre Radio, Radio Caroline Dublin & radio.wxtc.net, he went on to work at Premier FM multi city radio where he is oldies anchor on the highly sought after 8-11am Sunday morning golden oldies slot. Derek caters for the over 40′s parties like anniversary parties 60th 70th and has even played a rocking set at an 80th birthday party i kid you not. [Derek is anchor DJ on Xmas FM on Christmas mornings the past 2 years]
as to make the walk to the stage less boring for everybody but the winner of an award I pick up tempo tunes with instant recognition and beat (well thats the plan) these are the tunes the winners walked to for the IWA08 in the Radison Dublin

its back! the website was down for a few weeks. this was caused by a password change that took out access to the database. thanks to some observant clientele in the past 36hrs I went and fixed it. :) there is nowhere to hide in cyberspace, thus nowhere to hide from the embarrassment of the site been down. For the 3rd year running we played the after awards music at the Irish Blog Awards show. Each year it gets bigger and better, this year we also provided the PA system (1KW multi speaker spread system with radio mics) as the tables were removed to fit the 420 strong seated crowd. MC for the night was Rick O’Shea and the party went on til the small hours.
I was asked to post the sound cues used to accompany winners walk from the floor to the stage during the irish blog awards ceremony 01/03/08 – next year Cork! and yes we will travel down.

Finally as we enter the new year, and we think green, we look to our disco lights, boxes of 16 incandescent bulbs (that blow from time to time). Will we be forced to use CFL? I hope they make a breakthrough on LED lights first.
