our telco reconfigured our local dial in number in Dublin and it was off line for about 2 weeks. Fixed it eventually. 01 4433161 is working again. Thanks to an eagle eyed customer who spotted it and called me on the mobile. I have added a facebook & twitter button so you can share the love in social media. A face book fan page for DJ hire Dublin has also been added. While on tech issues, spam filters are getting tighter and tighter and some recent mails were trapped. Additional measures have been installed to help prevent this repeating. Blog software upgraded to 3.01. Now what else can go wrong?
We have been asked supply music for the Irish Blog Awards at the end of March in Galway. This will be the 4th blog awards we have played music at, the first two were in Dublin and Cork last year. Looking forward to it. requests via blip.fm or twitter with tag #IBA10
With price consciousness being the order of the day, our DJs put there headphones together and said “we love music” and I said what? they said “we will play an extra hour free on any gig where the time runs over” I said why? they said “We Love Music!”.
Ok then, if you need an extra hour above the standard disco time, then its yours for free – so they tell me.
I have been joined by two other DJs to help spread the work load.
DJ Dave has been on the mobile seen for decades and working all the gigs that were good to do in the North East (that’s why I got none of them) so if you can’t beat them join them! so they say.
Also joining us is Derek Jones who first graced the airwaves of Dublin in 1972 with the early Radio Dublin then moving to his own shortwave station Radio Valleri International where I met him in 1985. Derek worked with me on Big Beat Radio, Centre Radio, Radio Caroline Dublin & radio.wxtc.net, he went on to work at Premier FM multi city radio where he is oldies anchor on the highly sought after 8-11am Sunday morning golden oldies slot. Derek caters for the over 40′s parties like anniversary parties 60th 70th and has even played a rocking set at an 80th birthday party i kid you not. [Derek is anchor DJ on Xmas FM on Christmas mornings the past 2 years]
as to make the walk to the stage less boring for everybody but the winner of an award I pick up tempo tunes with instant recognition and beat (well thats the plan) these are the tunes the winners walked to for the IWA08 in the Radison Dublin

its back! the website was down for a few weeks. this was caused by a password change that took out access to the database. thanks to some observant clientele in the past 36hrs I went and fixed it. :) there is nowhere to hide in cyberspace, thus nowhere to hide from the embarrassment of the site been down. Its a moment where I could say “do give up the day job“.

We love doing 40th birthday parties , its so easy to match the music of the 80′s to those born in 66, 67 and 1968. This gig turned out to be one of the best 40th birthdays i did in a long time. When i started, the requests flooded in and the party got into full swing. By midway through the night the room was in a fantastic buzz and everyone was in full party mode. I got some very weird and wonderful requests that night including Adam and the Ants , that school disco classic Blue Monday by new order and even DANIEL O’DONNELL !!!!!. Thankfully I had all of these requests in my record collection. In all it was a great night for everyone there including the birthday boy!
