Dublin DJ Hire

Having played the music at the afters of the 2006 Irish Blog Awards we were asked to spin the tunes after the 2007 event and direct all the music cues during the award ceremony. I was flickring around and found this shot taken late into the night by edgecast podcaster and double award winner on the night Conn O’Muineachain. The Blog awards were held in the Alexander Hotel Dublin for the past two years.

sometimes we ask you for playlists sometimes you ask us the DJ’s to provide one, here is one disco 70′s oriented list we made yesterday for a weddings afters music.

here is a list of about 120 songs that would normally appear out of
our 4-500 CDs and 8000 tracks on each DJs 2 x iPods which we mix on
the iDJ mixer.

I happen to have been lucky enough to have catered the food at some of Brian’s Parties and they’ve all been a fantastic night.
He caters exactly to the customers requests and that has meant some rocking nights!! Great Stuff…. So Good I booked him for my wife’s 40th!!

“I was married three years ago in Dromoland Castle — and to this day our wedding guests are still asking who DJ’d for us! (Brian was asked to DJ at a few of our guests weddings previously).

Brian played all the music on my set list — which was varied to say the least, as well as mix in songs he knew would get the crowd going.

Bless him, he even let me sing…very brave! For over 80% of the night, there wasn’t a person sitting :) I would highly recommend him at any event!”

Brian comments: its the only time I played the Battle Hymn of the Republic at a wedding (or any gig) but 50% were American, so it really worked :-)

Had seen Brian cater for birthdays, weddings, & charity nights in the past so I knew it’d be a good night. Played to an eclectic mix of people of all ages and kept them happy and dancing. Especially the bride who got to relive the alternative 80′s scene for a while.

Awkward venue to play due to set up (dance floor is separate to bar and eating area) but had most people on the dance floor all night anyway.

Great mix of songs and happy to cater for all tastes, more than willing to listen to & play requests. And played till the wee hours.

No hesitation in recommending Brian’s DJ services for all types of functions.

We love doing 40^th birthday parties , its so easy to match the music of the 80′s to those born in 66, 67 and 1968. This gig turned out to be one of the best 40^th birthdays i did in a long time. When i started, the requests flooded in and the party got into full swing. By midway through the night the room was in a fantastic buzz and everyone was in full party mode. I got some very weird and wonderful requests that night including Adam and the Ants , that school disco classic Blue Monday by new order and even DANIEL O’DONNELL !!!!!. Thankfully I had all of these requests in my record collection. In all it was a great night for everyone there including the birthday boy! If they’re happy, we’re happy and that’s what counts – martin

Jesting aside – we were asked for an obscure Frankie Valli song tonight, we didn’t carry it. So Brian is getting Derek to gift a copy of the song to Martin. Music makes our world go around, and we hate not having the tracks you ask for. :-(

Disco Equipment we have abused over the years while we played our music to Dublin’s disco going public. Nowadays we can find ourselves using double iPods & CD CD/MP3, 8000 tracks no heavy record boxes. Picture 4 below is in the radio Museum in Cork but I did use a mixer just like that in 1986 and here is a picture of it. Last picture on the right thats me! bhg.
